Pam Hillygus

Pam Hillygus received her undergraduate degree in music education from Seattle Pacific University and her graduate degree from Southern Illinois University. Pam studied string pedagogy with Dr. John Kendall who is famed for introducing the Suzuki string method to the United States. After teaching in the public schools in California and Oregon, Pam inquired about a string position in Missoula, the announcement for the position written by Dr. Gerald Doty. Pam has continued teaching in the Missoula Public Schools for the past 23 years. Pam performs with the Missoula Symphony Orchestra and the Avalon Trio. When not working, Pam enjoys spending time on the Stillwater River with her family.
