Back to Musicians
Loy is a Montana native and, for the most part, a locally grown
musician. She started playing the violin in her school’s orchestra
at age ten and joined the Billings Symphony five years later. She
earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Montana State University
and a Master of Music in Violin Performance from Temple University.
Her musical studies also led to a summer at the Aspen Music Festival
and a year at Indiana University. She is associate concertmaster of
the Missoula Symphony and a member of the Black Tie Quartet. She
loves hiking and running and has a new obsession for alpine skiing.
Loy currently runs a private studio from her home in Missoula and
teaches orchestra in a new program at Target Range School.
