Madeleine McKelvey Madeleine McKelvey is a native Missoulian and founding member of the String Orchestra of the Rockies. She is also principal second violinist of the Missoula Symphony Orchestra, and plays with Loy Marks in the Willowbrook Duo. She studied violin in Washington D.C. and Europe, and earned degrees in Music and Liberal Arts from the University of Montana. She has also done extensive study in string pedagogy, and teaches about 25 private violin/viola students in Missoula. Recently she has been broadening her musical horizons to include Scottish fiddling and Balinese gamelan. She and her husband Kevin have two grown daughters, two dogs, and three cats, even thought neither of them like cats. |
