Sam Taylor received his first piano lessons at the age of 4 from his mother. Violin lessons with Professor Eugene Andrie at The University of Montana followed later. He also nurtured a love for classical guitar. At the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, he studied with Zaven Melikian for two years. Mathematics and music at The University of Montana followed. In 1978, he studied with Katy Sebestyen at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels, Belgium, where he received 1st prize diplomas in violin and chamber music, and Diplome Superieur in violin. In 1987, he was appointed 1st violinist in the Stadtorchester Winterthur, and conductor of the Civic Orchestra of Steckborn. |
